USS invests £1bn of your pension money in a water company after it has been loaded with debt by a corporate raider and given record fines for pollution caused by rundown infrastructure, and which is overseen by a regulator asleep at the wheel – what could possibly go wrong? Thank you for your hard work and intelligence in finding all this out. a shocking story and disgusting. I am actually a customer of Thames water, since I live in London, as well as receiving a pension from USS. Is there anything I can do? (I am not in a position to donate money, nor am I on social media).

Thank you for your kind comments. It seems like that Thames Water will go into some sort of administration, perhaps this year, and shareholders like USS will be trying to get some sort of deal from the government (most probably involving customer bills rising).
You can write to USS to let the know your views, feel free to quote anything we have published if that helps. You could urge them to provide more transparency on why they invested in TW in the first place, why they put ore money in later, and exactly what their plans are now and what review they will be doing in future to avoid doing something like this again.
